Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.

Hickam Air Force Base is located in Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. It is home to the PACAF’s 15th Airlift Wing which supports air mobility and operations missions in the Global War on Terrorism. Hickam Air Force Base supports the Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command and the Commander of the Pacific Air Forces. Other major units at the base include the 154th Wing and the Pacific Air Force. Upon arriving at Hickam Air Force Base, contact the Hickam Community Housing office for floor plans and available housing units. On-post residences number over 2,500 and offer several two, three and four bedroom homes. If off-post housing is needed, the housing office can identify the allowable basic housing allowance for the area and find suitable homes for rent or homes for sale. Base dormitories are provided for single personnel according to rank. Five main schools are available to children of Hickam Air Force Base personnel. The on-base schools include Hickam Elementary, Mokulele Elementary, and Nimitz Elementary. About five minutes from the base are Aliamanu Middle School and Radford High School. Private schools are an option, but Hawaii has highly accredited public schools. Schools have received additional funding for new computers, textbooks and any repairs the school buildings might need. For more complete information, call the Hickham School Liaison at 808-449-1577. Weather at Hickam Air Force Base is temperate year-round and offers residents many outdoor recreational activities on nearby beaches. In 2010, Hickam Air Force Base and Pearl Harbor Naval Base combined to form Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
